"Help prevent "summer vacation" amnesia" by Elana Centor

Your child's preschool years are the building blocks in which all education that followswill be built on; with this in mind you will want to ensure that your child has everyadvantage possible when they begin their education, and the best school.

By the time your baby is a toddler it will be time to begin your search for the right school.Public preschool varies greatly in quality and not always is there a place for every childof preschool age and it may be very hard to get your child into private school. The earlieryou begin your search, the better your chances of securing the perfect school for yourchild.

To start with, determine what type of school would be a good match for your child. Takeinto consideration if your child learns quickly, or may require a little more attention. Some children are extremely gifted in certain areas while others struggle endlessly. Aprivate school may be great for one preschooler, where another would benefit from aspecial school which will work closely with each child. If your child is someplace inbetween, a public pre school may be just right for their needs.

Once you have determined what type of school you are looking for, do some shoppingaround to see what schools or out there and which schools it would be plausible for yourchild to attend. While searching for the right school for your child, take notice of someimportant elements of each school such as: small groups to teacher ratio, age appropriateactivities, and a safe environment. It is also very important to ask questions about howemployees are screened and what the turnover is. Ask for references if you areconsidering a private school.

These same basic concepts will work when choosing any school for your child, no matterwhat age they are. The school must fulfill the childís needs or your son or daughter willbe losing many great learning opportunities.

Check the track records of the school; ask lots of questions before determining if it isright for your child. If your child needs special help, will they be willing to work withhim? What are the entrance requirements? Will this school help your child be preparedfor their next level of education?

You will want your child to be happy and content in school; taking the time to choose theright school for your child is one of the best gifts you can give them.
